Grease Buildup on Range Hoods

Range hoods have various areas that may need cleaning, depending on their design and model, including grease filters, the inside of the hood, fans, and grease trays. We’ll ask about grease dripping and changes in suction, then explain the options for hood cleaning separately from consultations about ducts and fans.

SIGNS / 01

Range Hood Issues to Watch For

Range hood symptoms and equipment conditions vary depending on the model, installation environment, and store operations. The examples below can help organize the details when making an inquiry. If there is a safety risk, follow your store or facility’s safety procedures before doing any work or taking photos.

01

Grease-clogged filter

We check the number and material of the filters, how dirty they are, and how often they are cleaned as part of routine maintenance. If suction does not return, other parts of the airflow path may also need to be checked.

02

Grease dripping from the edge of the hood

We’ll clarify where grease is dripping, the condition of internal buildup, and the proximity of heat-producing equipment. We’ll also confirm protective measures for the work and how much time is available after closing.

03

Odors or smoke linger in the kitchen

We check which areas are included—the hood, ducts, exhaust fan, or air supply—while considering how the symptoms relate to the equipment.

BEFORE CONSULTATION / 02

Please provide whatever information you can before your consultation.

Please share whatever you know about the range hood, such as the number of hoods, their width and height, and the number of filters. If an on-site inspection or additional materials are needed, we’ll ask about the situation and then advise you.

  • Number of hoods, width, height, and number of filters
  • Where and when grease drips, smoke, or odors occur
  • Checking the Fan, Duct, and Access Panel
  • Stepladders, protective coverings, work space, preferred time
About the Scope of Services

The estimate will specify whether the hood surface, filters, internal components, ducts, and fan are included. If equipment disassembly or electrical work is required, confirm separately which qualified specialist can handle it and define the scope.

Whether work on a range hood is possible, the method, schedule, and cost will be advised after we review the equipment’s condition and the relevant store, region, contract, and facility requirements.

QUESTIONS / 03

Frequently Asked Questions

Will cleaning the filter restore suction?

Other factors may also be involved, including the inside of the hood, ducts, fan, or air supply. Please confirm the work scope rather than assuming the cause based only on changes after cleaning.

Can I ask about cleaning after closing?

Requirements vary depending on the store or building’s access conditions, the work involved, and the schedule. We will ask about your preferred time, security and key procedures, and the time needed before business can resume, then confirm the details individually.
